HOME DELIVERED MEALS
(Meals on Wheels)
Home delivered meals are available Monday through Friday to eligible individuals who are 60 years of age or older or the spouse of a person over 60. The recipient must be homebound, unable to prepare the mid-day meal and have no other person at his or her residence that can prepare the meal. Also, the recipient must be unable to participate at a congregate meal site.
Each home delivered meal includes meat, fish or pasta, vegetables, bread, juice, fruit or dessert and milk. All menus are approved by a qualified dietitian and are planned to provide at least one-third of the recommended daily dietary allowances set by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
CSI employees and a dedicated corps of volunteers deliver meals to the homebound elderly. Clients also receive a monthly menu and newsletter, and other written information that is of interest and importance to them.
Each participant has the opportunity to make a donation toward the cost of the meal. There is no required payment, but a $2.00 donation per meal is suggested. The method of payment is strictly confidential. All participant donations are put back into the Home Delivered Meals operating grant to help further the program.
The Home Delivered Meals office is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

WEEKEND AND HOLIDAY HOME DELIVERED MEALS
Many of our Monday through Friday Home Delivered Meals clients have no other family or community support and cannot provide meals for themselves on weekends and holidays. These individuals receive meals year round.
Because the demand for home delivered meal service increases each year, CSI must carefully evaluate and review each case to ensure provision of services where the greatest need exists.
Each weekend home delivered meals participant receives a cold breakfast and hot or cold lunch for Saturday and Sunday. All menus are approved by a qualified dietitian and are planned to provide at least one-third of the recommended daily dietary allowances set by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Holiday meal participants receive a box lunch meal. Special holiday meals are prepared and delivered for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Each participant has the opportunity to make a donation toward the cost of the meal. There is no required payment, but a $2.00 donation per meal is suggested. The method of payment is strictly confidential. All participant donations are put back into the Weekend and Holiday Home Delivered Meals operating grant to help further the program.
